Re: Esc key - and beaming across staves
Hi, jss:
As far as I can see, use of the SPACE key (largest key on the keyboard) to start and stop playback is pretty much industry standard. There are exceptions, but those are usually "extreme"...

Re: Esc key - and beaming across staves
Hi, jss:
The Escape key simply de-selects whatever your currently selected section is.
I'll have to let Sherry or Reinhold answer your second question.
Good luck.

Re: A new text tool
Part of the question regarding implementation is where does it make the most sense (and intuitiveness) to add that aspect of the feature?
My feeling is that is should definitely be a text object,...

Here's a wish-list item for version 4 that I've been thinking about recently.
I'm working on a LOT of pages of orchestration -- 4 shows, 20-30 numbers per show and 8-15...

Re: Pushing the PDF envelope
Hi, Sherry:
Actually, the Haru Free PDF Library is the driver that Reinhold is using for Composer. I was just saying that its output is exceptional, making me want to persevere with it, even if...

Re: Pushing the PDF envelope
Thanks, Sherry.
On my screen, I don't see the collisions in the notation that you highlighted, so it's interesting that it comes up differently on different systems.
The formatting was locked...

Pushing the PDF envelope
Hi, guys:
What I'm trying to do admittedly pushes the envelope for PDF export further than you may have envisioned.
I am assembling the orchestrated score for a show. In order to have a...

Re: Volume Saving
Hello, Impulse:
Notation Composer has no provision for globally changing and saving the overall volume of a piece. As Herbert noted, the Volume slider is only a temporary "wood-shedding" tool.

Re: Volume change of Selected Staves.
Hi, Impulse:
To permanently change the volume of one or more staves, you can use the Staff Setup to enter an initial numeric value for each staff.
Alternatively, for changes within the music,...

Hi, Impulse:
Chances are that you need to go into the Midi Device Configuration box (from the Setup menu) and install the voice names for your midi device.
The process is explained in the...

Re: 2x (2nd Time) Only in Repeats
Hi, Ralph, Sherry:
If the low volume marker is set at a later point in the first "silent" bar, then the Midi export should be successful.
Hope that helps.

Re: Accurate freehand notation?
Hi,
That's what Composer was created for in the first place.
Creator Mark Walsen wanted a program that would accurately transcribe Midi input and create high-quality notation from the result. ...

Re: blank midi tracks
Hi, Ronald:
Many midi files have apparently blank tracks that have been left in from the templates that whoever made the file used.
There are two possibilities:
1) they are used to contain...

Thanks, Ralph.
I was just thinking about Robert Goulet yesterday, which is an odd coincidence. (Played Lancelot on Broadway, so original singer of the song.)

Hi, Ralph:
I've started a thread about this on the Beta Testing forum.

Re: Pleasingly Plump Septet
Nice.
Very hard to simulate horn or sax scoops, but they sound very authentic.
I did have to add an empty bar to the beginning to hear the first scoop. I think the "silent" attack time was...
